Tai Chi/Chi Kung is a Way of Life.

Shasta Lotus Tai Chi Class Tai Chi /Chi Kung practice is a way to health. In Chinese Medicine it is believed that stagnated energy is the source of disease and chronic pain, or discomfort. When there is muscle tension or tightness, the life supporting Chi or energy can not flow. Tai Chi and Chi Kung exercises help to balance and open up this flow, which strengthens the vital organs to restore health and well being.
The Chi Kung exercises that Deborah teaches are traditional. Some of them are hundreds of years old. The Eight Essentials, often referred to as the Eight Strands of Brocade are the oldest recorded form of exercise. Each move is practiced to stimulate corresponding acupuncture points which in turn balance the internal organ that the move relates to. The exercises are easy to learn, fun to practice and only take ten minutes a day. Yet the results are impressive and can usually be felt within one month if practiced daily.
Deborah teaches Chi Kung exercises as well as Yang Style Tai Chi at the College of the Siskiyous. Private lessons are available. Please email or call for more information.
Tai Chi is becoming as necessary to my emotional and mental health as food, air and water are to my physical well-being. Before Tai Chi emotions ruled my world – sometimes to my physical and mental detriment. I was a reactive person, rarely proactive. I now feel much more at peace and at ease with myself and others. I am able to react less emotionally to unpleasant situations or confrontations and feel that I am more in control of my life and my health. Thank you, Deborah!
